Mint is in the very early stage of investigating the viability of a new wind farm near Wambangalang, 30 km west of Wellington in New South Wales.

If developed, the project could generate up to 500MW of capacity, enough to power over 336,000 homes in New South Wales with renewable energy.

Project Updates

We are currently in the early feasibility stage of our wind farm project, and there is still significant work to be done before determining its viability.

To unlock the potential of energy from the proposed wind farm, we need to collaborate with local landholders to establish the necessary transmission infrastructure. While we are progressing discussions with interested parties willing to host the wind turbines, identifying landholders open to hosting transmission infrastructure is another important step in the process.

As part of our preliminary investigations, we are assessing potential routes for transmission lines to connect the wind farm to the existing grid at the Wellington Substation. In addition to exploring potential routes for transmission, as part of our feasibility investigations we also assess and consider aspects like land use, community considerations, early environmental and technical constraints and opportunities.

If the project progresses to the next development phase, we will engage with local councils, landowners, neighbours and surrounding communities as early as possible, keeping people informed and involving people in decisions that they are able to influence.
